WAAT is on Cardano

We chose to build the project on Cardano because this blockchain conquered our hearts with those two strong principles:

• Organic Blockchain: Cardano is one of, if not the most, organic blockchain. Cardano has a focus on long-term sustainability and decentralized governance. These aspects aim to enable the community to actively participate in the governance of the network.

• Decentralized Blockchain: Cardano has strived to progress towards greater decentralization over time. It has a whole phase that was dedicated to decentralizing the network by allowing ADA holders to participate in consensus through staking and delegation.

What is Cardano?

Cardano is a blockchain platform that aims to provide a more secure and scalable infrastructure for the development of decentralised applications (DApps) and smart contracts. It has a focus on building a sustainable and inclusive ecosystem for decentralised applications.

Cardano uses a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm called Ouroboros. PoS is considered more energy-efficient compared to proof-of-work (PoW), which is the consensus algorithm used by Bitcoin. The native cryptocurrency of Cardano is ADA.

Cardano was founded by Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, and development started in 2015.
